To loose essential AC power, and I think is of particular interest to you Ian, it would be necessary to lose Bus 3 and generator #1. To loose essential DC power it would be necessary to lose the essential Transformer/Rectifier T/R) unit and have the circuit breaker 3F3 open.
As you can see, essential power is well protected in the Lockheed L-1011.
