The MICROPHONE SELECT panel is part of the alternate oxygen supply system for the flight crew. This particular panel is the panel found on the right hand side of the cockpit of the Lockheed L-1011. The panel allows the crew member to switch the microphone from the boom microphone mounted on a regular headset to the microphone mounted inside the oxygen mask.
The panel further has a PRESS TO TALK button that keys the microphone and the PA switch that switches the respective oxygen mask microphone to the pubic address system.
