L-1011 Flight Controls: Rudder and Aileron Manual Trim (27-21)

On the L-1011 neither the Rudder nor the Aileron trim is electronic, they are considered conventional. The Aileron is trimmed by rotating the trim wheel that is protruding from console to either Left Wind Down (LWD) or Right Wing Down (RWD). The will is marked in 10 units which equals to 7º  of authority.

The Rudder is trimmed by rotating the when on top of the the rear console. This wheel also contains a crank. The Trim authority for the Rudder trim is 10º left or right.

L-1011 Autoflight: Proportional Pitch Trim (22-19)

Proportional pitch trim is active during control wheel steering operation but only while pressure is being applied to the control wheel. When pressure is released, the auto trim will operate. It is not necessary to use the trim but it more closely approximates the feel of the manual airplane.

Proportional pitch trim is also active on the ground when control wheel steering is selected and a pressure of four pounds is applied to the control wheel while trimming.

Cockpit Design Study: Center Console (Part 1)

Here are the top side measurements for the Lockheed L-1011 center console. I will post the side measurements at a later point. The pictures are from the L-1011 cockpit located at the Delta Air Transportation Heritage Museum. The center console has several characteristic features:

Forward Electronics Console
Throttle Quadrant
Center Electronics Console

The following images illustrate the size of the center console:
