L-1011 - CPT Installation at the Museum - Installation Part 4

L1011 Trainer - Main Instrument Panel Installation

Worked on the the main instrument panel (MIP) instrumentation swap-out on the L-1011 Simulator at the National Museum of Commercial Aviation. What I am doing here is replacing the simulated instruments that came with the cockpit procedure trainer with the actual flight hardware.

As you can see in the image below, not all of the instruments are installed yet, but, the MIP is coming together quiet nicely. All of the instruments are original L-1011.

The goal, of course, will be to replace all oft the photo simulated instruments with the real device and to make them all work.

Currently all of the auto-pilot instruments are still the original procedure trainer photo simulated plates. Once all of the MIP instruments are in place we will replace the glare-shield plate with one that has been laser-cut to accommodate the actual APFD instruments.
