L-1011 Flight Controls: FCES Panel (27-13)

L-1011 cockpit controls have a conventional layout. There are two control columns with wheels, rudder pedals for both the captain and first officer, there is electric and manual stabilizer trim and manual aileron and rudder trim.

Various switches and indicators are located in the forward, overhead and Flight Engineer's Panels. One of them is the Flight Controls Electronic Systems (FESC) Panel located on the overhead. It contains controls for:
  • ACS (not on all aircraft)
  • Yaw Stability Augmentation system (YAW SAS)
  • Stall Warning Computer (STALL WARN)
  • Pitch Trim Computer (PITCH TRIM)
  • Direct Lift Control and Auto Spoiler Computer (DLC/AUTO SPLR)
  • Automatic Throttle Systems (ATS)
  • Mach Trim (MACH TRIM)
Each of the systems has two channels, hence there are two switches for each system.
