L-1011 Trainer - SO Station Installation |
Today we installed the
Second Officer's Console (right hand side in the image above) and the aft circuit breaker panel into the simulator room at the National Museum of Commercial Aviation. The image above gives a pretty good idea just how roomy the L-1011 cockpit is. In order to make the console easier to move out of the storage room and easier to install on the platform, all of the instrumentation was removed. The only thing that's really left in the console is the original simulator cabling, as you can see in the image below.

This completes the second installation session and the diagram below shows all the components that are now installed in the room outlined in blue.
The CB2 circuit breaker panel will attach to the top of the flight engineer's station and will be the next thing to install, together with the overhead panel.
