The Slat monitor panel is located in the the upper flight engineer panel. The panel has the following components:
- 14 green lights, one for each slat.
- "ON" switch on the panel arms the green lights.
- A Travel Indicator with two needles. One for right, one for the left wing. There is also an OFF flag that shows loss of instrument power.
- "LOCK" switch light with LOCK1 and LOCK2 positions.
- LE SLAT/LOCK light - illuminates with slat asymmetry.
- ASYM/DET FAULT light - illuminates with failure of asymmetry detector.
- TE FLAP/LOCK light - illuminates with flap asymmetry fault.
I hand drafted this when I worked at Lockheed as an Engineering Coop Student in Aerospace Engineering.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post. That's pretty amazing! I would love to hear some more about that!
ReplyDeleteI did the original drawing in ink and after working on this project for several weeks my German supervisor came around, took one look at it, and tore up the drawing without giving me an explanation. I then proceeded to start over and worked on it for another 4-6 weeks until he was satisfied. (Maybe he couldn't speak English?)
