The light control panel on the flight engineers' station of the Lockheed L-1011 has several functions. It controls the lights for the flight engineer station as well as the lights for the forward and aft circuit breaker panels.
The light controls in the picture above are used for the following elements of the flight engineer station:
INST .. controls the brightness of the station instruments.
PANEL .. controls the brightness of the light plates (panels).
FLOOD .. controls the intensity of the flood light for the station.
DESK UTILITY .. controls the brightness of the small desk utility light.
The two switches on the panel enable the testing of all annunciators on the flight engineer panel. The TEST switch turns on all lights and the brightness can be set with the WARNING CAUTION ADVISORY switch to BRT (bright) or DIM.
The utility light control also has an on/off switch.
The lower section of the panel has the brightness control for the forward and aft circuit break panel illumination of the L-1011.
