The Wing Anti Ice panel on the Lockheed L-1011 is part of the Ice and Rain Protection system of the aircraft. The engine inlet cowl and the P1 probe on each engine receive intermediate pressure bleed air to prevent icing. Air flow is controlled by a pressure regulating shutoff valve. The three individual engine inlet cowl anti-ice systems are controled and monitored from the engine anti-ice control panel on the pilot's overhead panel.

Operating conditions of each system are sensed by an overpressure switch and on underpressure switch.
HEAT LIGHT ... should illuminate shortly after control switch is pushed in; it indicates pressure is adequate for anti-icing. At idle power the light may not illuminate.
CONTROL SWITCH ... ON illuminates to show the switch position.
HI PR LIGHT ... indicates an overpressure in system, which will continue to function nusing overpressure relief valve.
