The Aural Test and Galley Smoke Panel is a somewhat interesting combination panel. Earlier versions of the L-1011 did not have the Galley Smoke panel as part of it. There is a rotary switch that allows for the selection of a number of different aural warning tones and a test switch to actuate them. The Galley Smoke warning is illuminated when smoke or fire is detected in the galley or when the test switch is at TEST.

The rotary switch provides selection of five units for aural testing:
A/C OVSP - Generates Clacker Sound.
CAB PRESS - Sounds Intermittent horn.
UNSAFE LGD - Sounds steady horn.
UNSAFE TAKEOFF - Sounds intermittent horn.
FLAPS LRS - Activates a buzzer.

Do you have a way to generate the sounds?
ReplyDeleteWell, I was simply thinking about creating them out of the computer. However, I could perhaps also create them with a device that can play back audio such as the AVR 32bit family of MCUs.
